“Getting Published”

July 28th, 2006

Prof Lindsay- current Editor of Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, the leading generalist experimental psychology journal from the American Psychological Association – presented a workshop for all psychology PhD students on the nuances of publication. The workshop detailed the purposes of publication, appropriate selection of journals, manuscript preparation, the editing and reviewing process, and the results of this process, such as resubmission or rejection. The seminar was met enthusiastically by the students.
 e.g.
“just wanted to say the seminar today was great….Well worth ‘wagging’ placement for a coupla (sic) hours to attend”

“What I think everyone can gain from presentations such as this is a general shift in perspective: An understanding of what good journal editors (rather than supervisors or colleagues) look for in a manuscript.”

“Overall, a very helpful and well presented guide to the publication process.”
